We Campers is Calgary’s first Outdoor and Sports Daycare Centre, featuring one of Calgary’s largest and best-equipped childcare outdoor spaces, 14 outdoor classrooms, 12 indoor classrooms, an indoor play area, and dedicated sports spaces.
Our unique facility allows us to offer both Montessori and play-based learning approaches, enhanced by daily outdoor experiences, sports, and movement activities.
Our balanced programs are led by qualified educators and sports coaches and are available for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school-age children.
As a licensed childcare facility, We Campers participates in the Alberta Child Care Affordability Grant Program and accepts eligible childcare subsidies.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Families can choose between Montessori Learning and Play-Based Learning.
Our Montessori approach encourages independence, concentration, responsibility, and hands-on learning. Our play-based approach supports discovery, imagination, creativity, and social interaction.
Both approaches include literacy, STEM, practical life skills, creative arts, music, sensory activities, outdoor learning, sports, movement, and field trips.
Our large outdoor space gives children more opportunities to spend extended time outside when weather conditions permit, without being restricted to a short scheduled outdoor period.
The space includes 14 well-equipped outdoor classrooms where children can learn, play, explore, and participate in outdoor activities. When conditions are suitable, children may also enjoy breakfast, lunch, and snacks in the fresh air.
Every group also has access to a fully equipped indoor classroom, an indoor playground, and an indoor gym for learning, play, and physical activities.
Sports and movement are integrated into both learning approaches. Through age-appropriate activities, children develop physical fitness, coordination, confidence, concentration, teamwork, problem-solving skills, self-discipline, and resilience.
Activities may include soccer, basketball, dance, fitness, gymnastics, karate, and other movement experiences.
Children participate in two field trips each month, along with outdoor adventures and community experiences. We also organize special events that bring children and families together.
These experiences encourage curiosity, independence, confidence, exploration, and meaningful connections with the world around us.
We offer Montessori Learning and Play-Based Learning, both combined with our Outdoor and Sports-Based Learning Approach. Families can choose the approach that best supports their child’s interests, developmental needs, and preferred way of learning.
